Where we work, and where the water comes from there
This is not a list of places we will drive to. A basement in Wasaga Beach takes water up through the slab; one in Creemore takes it from the Mad River in March; one in a Blue Mountains chalet takes it from a pipe that failed three weeks before anybody arrived.
Each page below sets out what actually causes water damage in that community — which watercourse matters, who forecasts it, and how old the buildings are.

Collingwood
Two kilometres of earth dike and a diverted creek are the reason downtown stays dry in a big storm. Everything else about water here follows from the age of the buildings.

The Blue Mountains
The most expensive water losses in our whole service area happen here, and almost none of them are caused by anything unusual. They are ordinary failures in empty buildings.

Wasaga Beach
Sand drains beautifully until the water table comes up to meet it. Then it is a town where the water arrives through the floor rather than through the roof.

Thornbury
In January 2026 the river here rose sharply, and not because of rain. It is the clearest local example of a flood mechanism most people have never heard of.

Clarksburg
Everything Thornbury gets from the Beaver River, this village gets first and gets more of. It is the upstream end of the same problem.

Stayner
After Collingwood, this is the most flood-exposed community in the Nottawasaga watershed. The creek that does it runs through the middle of town.

Creemore
A village with a documented flood history going back more than a century, and the river that causes it runs along the east side of it.

Meaford
The far end of where we work, and the town in our area with the most active river running straight through the middle of it.
